Looking for something to do on Earth Day weekend? How about a nice walk with Sustainable Fairfax to the Marin Stables to help MMWD and One Tam remove French Broom, a harmful non-native plant.

We will meet at the Fairfax Coffee Roastery between 8:15 and 8:25 to walk up to the Marin Stables at the end of Wood Lane to participate in a Broom Pull sponsored by Marin Stables, MMWD and One Tam.

The Broom Pull Work Party on the Canyon and Moore Trails runs from 9-12 noon. Find out about the Broom Pull and Register for the Work Party here (registration appreciated but not required).

After the Broom Pull (12 noon), we plan to leave the Marin Stables area for a 1.6 mile loop walk in the watershed to Deer Park and back to Town. This walk is optional.

8:15a.m.: Meet at Fairfax Coffee Roastery
9:a.m. – 12 noon: MMWD/Marin Stables Broom Pull
12 Noon: Optional walk back to Town via Deer Park (1.8 miles)

Feel free to join for any or all of these activities to preserve and enjoy our watershed!

Wear sturdy shoes with tread. Light rain okay (in which case bring rain gear); heavy rain cancels. Gardening gloves for the broom pull would be helpful, as would a hat to shade from sun.

Questions and/or RSVP:  SustainableLisel@gmail.com

These walks are a part of our ReduceX2 campaign to help us rethink out transportation options and enjoy life more! Find out more here.
