Sustainable Fairfax hosts and collaborates on many annual events throughout the year. Our events are a way to bring the community together.
Streets for People – August – This annual event takes place in August, when we close downtown Bolinas Avenue to automobile traffic and give it to the people! Local businesses come out with their wares and goodies, there are classes and workshops, live local music, free services, and lots to learn. And, of course, our Zero Waste committee is in full force to make sure that as little waste goes to landfill as possible. This event is organized by Sustainable Fairfax in conjunction with the Fairfax Chamber of Commerce.
The Fairfax Craft Faire – December – Local craftspeople and artisans from town and nearby offer sustainably handmade goods at the annual Fairfax Craft Faire in the Pavilion. Sponsored by Sustainable Fairfax and Fairfax Recreation, the Faire brings holiday shoppers and creative craftspeople together, providing unique gifting choices, really tasty wholesome food, and wonderful live music.
